Artist and art historian, Suzanne Altman, will offer a visual lecture on the turbulent life and groundbreaking work of Paul Gauguin. Gauguin’s creation of a new art mo...vement called Symbolism, his quest for the spiritual, and his dramatic relationship with Vincent Van Gogh will be discussed. This talk is designed to coincide with the Museum of Modern Art’s spring exhibit of this influential post-impressionist.
