D-Day Anniversary:  Where it All Began — Camp Shanks — Growing up in Rockland County in the late 40’s and 50’s, Jerry Donnellan figured everyone had a military base in their backyard.  Not until he returned from Vietnam did he see the need for a museum to tell the Shanks story.  Camp Shanks sent 1.3 million troops to Europe and North Africa during WWII, and yet so many born after 1955 know very little of its past.  Come find out the history of this essential embarkation camp, and take a tour of the Camp Shanks Museum.
